While primarily a thrash metal band, X-Tinxion incorporates influences from other genres, blending fast, old-school thrash metal riffs with melodic passages to create its own, distinctive sound. Vocally, X-Tinxion goes above and beyond the female-fronted thrash band, with soaring vocals and a massive range that alternates from haunting screams to dark grunts and growls to create a sound that is simultaneously aggressive and melodic. Together, these qualities allow X-Tinxion to bridge the gap between modern and authentic nostalgic thrash.
With their 2016 release ‘’From The Ashes of Eden’’ the band’s full shows its full potential. Edgy solos, bold drum work, blend together with quality songwriting and smart, witty lyrics that take a hold of the listener with catchy melodies.
The main story of the album revolves around the transcendence of humanity. It deals with the human tendency to destruct while searching to better itself, particularly in the tracks ´Amalgamation´ and ´In Progress´, the first and last track on the album. It shows the dark side of the human psyche, of its religions and science. It is about inner conflict and the fear of death. However, this pessimistic view on man-kind is also relieved by a sense of humor that also shows the touching naivety of the human race. Like a deity looking over its flock, the lyrics try to show the listener what happens after the loss of innocence. And it gives us new hope to see the loss of innocence as an opportunity to learn and rise From The Ashes Of Eden.
X-Tinxion has worked together with producer Serge Naberman (Rebelstar / Najib Amhali) to record and produce “From the Ashes of Eden”. It is mastered by Thomas Plec Johansson (Nuclear Assault / Scar Symmetry). Both succeeded in making the album sound amazingly fresh, tight and new, while keeping the authentic feel of 80s thrash metal.
As a prelude, to “From the Ashes of Eden” X-Tixnion released the Maxi-single “Severed from Heaven” in March 2015, which was endorsed by Sander Gommans (After Forever/HDK) and lead to signing a worldwide deal with Graviton Music Services.
X-Tinxion plays tight, energetic live shows, and has frequently shared the stage with great bands like: Heathen, Channel Zero, The Charm The Fury, Benedictum, Nuclear Assault, Flesh Made Sin, Thanatos, Stormrider, Eminence, Perzonal War, The Gathering, Udo, Vengeance, Detonation, Bliksem, Izegrim, Evil Invaders and Drone.
“Furious Thrash Metal, dominated by a nice contrast between deep death grunts, and clean, yet super aggressive sounding vocals….., beautiful guitar solos, … strong sounding songs with heads and tails and recognizable melody.” (Robert Haagsma, Aardschok Magazine)
“Enough cannot be said regarding 'Monica Janssen's' very agile-vast-wide range of vocals. They're simply amazing & brilliant…Very hard to make a comparison to Monica's vocal style or style(s), as for I believe other 'female-fronted' bands will be compared to Monica's vast vocal ability. The lyrics & music were 'exceptionally' written. Very tight & well-orchestrated!” (Nathan McLeod, Metal to Infinity)
“.. up-tempo, sometimes even catchy songs are doing well live on stage. Nice to watch the interaction between musicians. It’s clear to see X-Tinxion is taking the Music one step further tonight ….” (Live review by Gerianne Meijer, Mcsharq)
